Gilberto Santa Rosa is to salsa what Frank Sinatra was to the American songbook. For anyone who grew up with Latin music, his voice needs little introduction. For everyone else, Hilo Rojo offers a way into that world through Nella — an artist whose own work crosses generations, traditions and genres.
The evening celebrates the release of the song, and the unexpected meeting behind it.
Listen to Hilo Rojo ↗Nella is a Latin GRAMMY®-winning Venezuelan artist born on Isla Margarita and trained at Berklee College of Music. Her music draws from Venezuelan and Latin American traditions while incorporating contemporary songwriting, Andalusian influences and modern production.
She has worked with Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Vives, Jennifer Lopez and Gustavo Dudamel, performed alongside Andrea Bocelli, and appeared in Asghar Farhadi's Everybody Knows, starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz. She has also performed at Carnegie Hall and Blue Note New York.
This summer, she performed with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, alongside Chris Martin, Beck, Carlos Vives and Natalia Lafourcade.
She comes to New York this September with new music, a major tour with Kany García, and Hilo Rojo, her new collaboration with Gilberto Santa Rosa.
An intimate evening set within a lush garden terrace, at a private headquarters — a live performance by Nella, a curated mixology experience, and elegant grazing.
